With DTG, as the name suggests, the artwork is digitally printed directly onto T-shirts, hoodies, or any 100% cotton garment. The ink is applied using industrial-sized inkjet-like printers using special water-based inks. Because they are water-based the printing process is more sustainable than the oil-based inks found in most traditional screen printed products. The feel of the print will generally be softer to the hand and can have more of a faded appearance. The prints are still as durable as screen prints. The best care for the garment and the print is to wash inside out in cold water.
